This term it is year 6 who are having Forest School sessions. They made a great start this week. The pupils made shelters, learnt new skills in weaving using foraged resources, made bracelets from recycled beads and made a variety of clay animals. Next week the children will be learning how to cook on an open fire. The pictures show den making, working together in problem solving and a woven design.

Year 1 have been learning all about the UK in our Geography lessons. On Wednesday, they had a fantastic time using recycled materials to create different London Landmarks. They created the London Eye, Elizabeth Tower, Tower Bridge, The Shard and Buckingham Palace. All the children tried very hard, helping each other and were very proud of themselves. The models they created were fantastic!

We would like to thank everybody again for the beautiful flowers that were sent in before half term for our May Procession.
After we had finished with them, Mrs McCubbin kindly took them to a local care home - Butlers Mews, to be shared out between the residents. This was made even more special as one of the residents was celebrating her 100th birthday!

Year 4 had a fantastic time on their school trip to Coombe Abbey. We explored different habitats by pond dipping and mini-beast hunting and then used our map-reading skills to do orienteering. Everyone had a wonderful time, gave their all in every activity and represented our school well.

Year 3 had an amazing time on their trip to The Black Country Museum! We sang songs on the coach as we made our way there, and when we arrived, we had a strict Victorian School lesson. It was very different from today – even Miss Pugh got the cane, just like the children did back then! After a lovely lunch, we explored the museum and learned all about how life used to be in the past. Everyone was really well-behaved, and all the adults were very proud of our good manners and how we represented the school. It was a day full of learning and laughter that we won’t forget!

This week, during playtime, the children noticed that a bird had been flying in and out of one of our bird boxes on the playground. A few days later, they heard cheeping noises coming from inside the box! Today, at playtime, the children waited to see if they could hear or see any birds appear. It was very exciting!
